What this game is
Castlevania: Belmont's Curse is a 2D action-exploration game set in 1499, in a Paris that is already burning. Konami publishes it. Evil Empire developed it, with Motion Twin advising. You play Rose Belmont, daughter of Trevor Belmont and Sypha Belnades. The curse of Dracula sits in her right arm.
It is not a roguelike. Death sends you back to the last Mirror of Life you used, and the map stays. Searches for belmonts curse also pull up a 1991 Game Boy game; that one is Belmont's Revenge, and it is a different title. This site is about the 2026 game.
- Released 15 October 2026. Steam's API shows 14 October because of the store time zone.
- PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows. No PlayStation 4 and no native Switch 2 edition.
- Standard edition $29.99. Midnight Edition $39.99.
- Metascore 84 from 63 critic reviews, and a 7.7 user score from 311 ratings, both read on 23 October 2026.
Where to start
If you are stuck on a gap, open the double jump, the Hall of Mirrors seals, or the Notre-Dame organ before you read a full chapter. If you want every chest and heart, start from the map hub and the 100% checklist. The free demo is the opening chapter, and a save can carry into the full game on the same platform and the same account.
What I ran into
I opened the Konami page, the Steam app details for 4231820, and the Xbox store on the same day and wrote the price, the date, and the platform list only where those three agreed. The hero art on this page is an original stained-glass illustration. The screenshots under it are Konami's own gameplay stills.

Questions
Is Belmont's Curse on Game Pass?
Not as a catalog game you can install free. Xbox says cloud play needs Game Pass Essential, Premium, or Ultimate, and the game purchase is still required.
Is there a Switch 2 version?
Konami has not shipped a native Switch 2 edition. The Switch game runs on Switch 2 by compatibility, at 60fps and a lower resolution.
Is there a demo?
Yes. It is the opening chapter on PS5, Switch, Xbox, and Steam. Keep that save if you want it in the full game.
When is the story set?
1499, twenty-three years after Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse.
