Brave Hearts and Wise Hearts
What a heart does
Brave Hearts are the red set and raise health. Wise Hearts are the blue set and raise magic. IGN says four of one color raise a single rank. The map count is 24 of each, often inside nested containers, and many of them need a later traversal skill.
A room-by-room list of all 48 was not captured cleanly enough to republish. IGN has separate Wise and Brave pages. This site keeps them together because the rule is the same and the missing data is the same. One confirmed example from the catacombs chapter is a Brave Heart at the Catacomb Entrance.
How to hunt without a pin pack
Check dead-end rooms after you learn Smash and double jump, and open containers you walked past. That is a search pattern, not a coordinate. When a full room list is verified against the game, it can replace this paragraph. Until then the totals and the four-per-rank rule are the facts.
What I ran into
I started transcribing heart rooms and stopped when I could not tell a container from a statue in the notes. Publishing a half-copied list would have sent people to the wrong chest. The rule and the one named heart stayed.
