How fast travel works
Two networks
Ferryman's Wharf moves you between regions. The map count is nine wharves. Mirrors of Life move you inside a region, and only to mirrors you have already found. Crouch to enter the Hall of Mirrors from a mirror. The published total is 34 mirrors.
A mirror is also a save, a full heal, a potion refill, and the place you revive. Using one respawns ordinary enemies. Bosses do not come back. Ghost skulls and Medusa heads can be farmed forever and do not give experience, which is an IGN beginner note rather than a mirror special.
- Paris Streets 5, Cemetery 4, Catacombs 2, Main Hall 9, Clock Tower 3, Library 2, Notre-Dame 3, Hall of Mirrors 5, Master's Quarters 1.
Icons inside the hall
IGN describes three reflections. A true reflection travels to a found mirror. A red reflection attacks. A blue reflection points the way. A full icon legend is not on the official site, and I am not redrawing one from memory. Those three behaviors are the distinction the text supports.
What I ran into
I treated every mirror as a warp to anywhere and got angry at the hall. It only offers mirrors I had already touched, inside the region. The ferryman is the one that changes districts. Once I split them, the map made sense.
Questions
How do I fast travel?
Use a Ferryman's Wharf to change region. Crouch at a Mirror of Life to warp to other mirrors you have found in the same region.
What happens if I die?
You return to the last Mirror of Life you used. Ordinary enemies respawn. Whether experience is lost is not stated in the sources, so it is not stated here.
